Interior Design firm the world is round has completed the interior fit-out of Haben Property Group’s new office headquarters, located on the top levels of Haben House in Sydney’s Double Bay. The building includes retail at street level, office space across three floors, and a rooftop function area with sweeping views of the harbour. the world is round worked closely with Haben to create an office space that reflects the company’s forward-thinking approach, bringing clarity, comfort and a sense of permanence to their new Double Bay base.

“The original brief from Haben was to create a sophisticated, high-performance workplace within their newly developed building at 55 Bay Street, Double Bay,” explained Andrew Cliffe - Director of the world is round. “They envisioned a workplace that balanced restraint, elegance with functionality, reflecting their brand identity as a premium property investment firm.”

“Our summary for the vision at the initial phase of the project: A smooth fusion of lush textures, rich hues and warm woods. Mad Men meets modern Australian luxury.”

Reflecting Haben Property Group's commitment to shaping successful retail environments and driving strong tenant engagement, their new workplace has been thoughtfully designed to embody the same principles of ownership, collaboration, and long-term value. “Over time, the brief evolved to place greater emphasis on flexibility, collaboration, and user experience, ensuring that spaces such as the breakout areas, boardroom, and executive offices could cater to both day-to-day operations and important investor meetings,” said Cliffe. The layout and material choices speak to Haben’s strategic, considered approach; creating a high-performance environment that fosters collaboration while echoing the company’s commitment to creating places people want to be. And Living Edge was proud to support these endeavours.

The design expresses these values through a clear and connected layout that encourages collaboration while maintaining a sense of refinement and focus. A considered palette of natural, neutral materials is paired with rich jewel tone accents, used in a complementary and welcoming way throughout the space. This layered approach has been elevated by furniture from several of the world’s leading furniture brands, many of which were proudly provided by Living Edge, drawing on our expertise in workplace design to create a space that feels purposeful and personal.

The floor plan of the office has been carefully arranged to support both focused work and dynamic collaboration. Subtle spatial distinctions define key zones across the workplace, separating open work areas from meeting spaces and allowing for a balance between privacy and connection. Workstations have been configured to foster cross-desk conversation and idea-sharing. In the open office zones, workstations have been paired with Herman Miller Cosm chairs, selected for their ergonomic performance and intuitive comfort.

Meeting rooms, both large and small, have been strategically positioned to promote spontaneous interaction while preserving acoustic comfort. In the smaller spaces, Herman Miller Eames DCM chairs paired with the Eames Segmented table, featuring integrated 25 power and data system by ZETR, create a relaxed yet purposeful setting for quick catch-ups and focused discussions. In contrast, the formal boardroom is anchored by Walter Knoll Lead chairs, chosen for their executive presence and lasting comfort.

In other key areas, Walter Knoll Healey chairs have been used to signal comfort and create moments of pause. The Healey Lounge takes pride of place at the entry desk, offering a welcoming first impression with its sculptural form and relaxed posture. Within the executive offices, the Healey Soft Chair provides refined comfort alongside other premium selections from Living Edge, reinforcing a sense of quality and attention to detail throughout the space.
