Living Edge's journey from a commercial furniture offering to a leader in international, sustainable, authentic designer furniture and lighting, reflects its adaptability and commitment to core values. Through long lasting partnerships within the design community, strategic expansion, sustainability initiatives, and a focus on authentic design, Living Edge has carved a distinct identity in Australia's furniture industry landscape.

A Look Back

 

The Early Years 2000–2010

Living Edge began as a contract office furniture supplier, working with leading interior designers and architects focusing on high-quality, design-centric products for commercial spaces. Originally founded in 1998 as ‘Furn-a-Home’ with a different focus, the company evolved into Living Edge in 2000. The company's commitment to authenticity and sustainability was evident from the outset, selecting brands and products that aligned with these values. The furniture offering at this time included a selection of Australian brands as well as a limited number of international collections. Throughout this period, the business grew steadily, opening showrooms across Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney to meet growing demand and better serve design communities around the country.

Global Outlook, Local Impact 2010–2020

Recognising the evolving needs of the market, Living Edge expanded its portfolio and offering, building on existing brand partnerships and creating new relationships, including a greater focus on residential furniture.A new direction of the company led to, investment in physical expansion and enhanced presence in four major cities. All new showrooms marked a shift in direction, designed as immersive design destinations rather than traditional retail spaces. Rather than creating concessions or segmented zones, each location was conceived as a unique design experience tailored to its local audience, showcasing the best of global design while offering something distinct and unexpected within the Australian market.

The Home of Design 2020–2025

Living Edge continues to evolve as a design industry leader while reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, service, and innovation. Culminating this dynamic chapter is the celebration of 25 years of Living Edge. A proud acknowledgement of the company’s design legacy and its vision for the future.

What has been the most rewarding part of growing the business?

"That we employ over 75 people and have an impact on them and their families. Work is an important part of life, and being responsible for the financial well being of anyone is a decent responsibility. I am most proud of being able to employ so many great people and hopefully provide a career, if not, at least education and learning so that they leave better equipped than they came, and hopefully continue to grow in their own path."
