PEXA (Property Exchange Australia) is Australia’s online property exchange network. It assists members to lodge documents with Land Registries and complete financial settlements electronically.

FutureSpace designed workspaces to inspire the evolving company culture of property exchange company PEXA.

PEXA is currently the only business in Australia that offers this service. Established in 2010, PEXA has grown quickly and is a leading player in the disruption of property conveyancing services. Prior to moving into the placemaking 727 Collins St development in Melbourne, PEXA had been in inherited premises across three locations that didn’t align with the culture, brand or behaviours of the team.

PEXA chose to work with Futurespace, whose team includes some of Australia’s most respected interior and architectural designers. With offices in both Sydney and Melbourne, they work collaboratively with clients to bring together their people, physical spaces and technology to create environments that inspire and add value. Its focus is all about increasing connection, productivity, engagement, health and well-being to positively change the way people live, learn and work.

The culture is continuing to evolve as the business grows and the workplace is an important part of this evolution.

The defining features of the new environment include the Central Café/Breakout Space and the Open/Collaborative Meeting zones. “Pexa is a fun place to work, the team is highly collaborative and celebrating success is important.” Said a PEXA representative, “The spaces in the new workplace provide the first opportunity for the team to really come together and work towards common goals.”

In areas with high activity (such as the reception, kitchen, meeting and collaborative spaces) bold colour blocking was used in the finishes and materials to contrast against the fairly neutral work areas. Living Edge provided a variety of pieces from Scandanavian design Brand Muuto’s latest collections.

Colour was combined with natural timbers, patterned flooring and the greenery of the building’s central void to signify the vibrancy and creativity at the core of the PEXA brand. The blue and green tones used signify creativity, intelligence and vibrancy. The culture is continuing to evolve as the business grows and the workplace is an important part of this evolution.
