Having acquired a spacious, industrial-style heritage loft in a prime location on York Street, central Sydney, Peace of Mind Technology engaged Hammond Studio to create an innovative space that serves many functions, without compromising on aesthetics. All within a heritage listed, boutique office building, the Peace of Mind Technology experience centre is a workshop; showroom; workplace; gallery; and event space, in which Peace of Mind Technology showcases its capabilities by walking the walk, not just talking the talk.

With the genesis of design being to embody the utopian workplace Peace of Mind Technology’s vision, a design conscious and highly integrated approach to technology was paramount to the project’s success. Specifying the Scale Media Table and Keypiece Communication Desk, custom-designed for Peace of Mind Technology by Walter Knoll, Living Edge facilitated close collaboration to ensure that each piece was customised to seamlessly house the various technology solutions that are core to Peace of Mind Technology’s consultative offering.
The Scale Media Table was custom-designed to accommodate Peace of Mind Technology’s storage of various product options for quick access during client meetings. Walter Knoll’s initial sketch for the design of an integrated MDF trough as the centrepiece of the Scale Media Table created a talking point around which the design could evolve into specification, in lieu of a ready-made, physical table.
Likewise, the custom Keypiece Communication Desk began with a meeting between client and designer, and a sketch. This became a working sketch, demonstrating the sizing of the table and number of seats as part of Peace of Mind Technology’s Video Conferencing capabilities. Through design development and specification, the VC Table evolved to take on a custom trapezoid shaped form, perfectly suited for the function of the room.
