Stand design really brings brand vision and product propositions to life. At this year’s Orgatec fair in Cologne, Germany, there were a number of brands that framed their product portfolios with experiential stands that either plunged the visitor into immersive and colourful vignettes or transported them out of the busy trade halls and into an ethereal wonderland of design. Muuto has never been afraid to play with colour, and its palette choices never cease to amaze. The Relevo Rug
The Relevo Rug by Milan-based designer duo, Studiopepe is Muuto’s very first tufted rug — a soft and deeply tactile piece asking to be touched. A strong and artful expression for the floor, Relevo, meaning relief in Latin, brings a distinct sculptural quality to the room, all while having a homey sense of comfort. Its furrows are produced by trimming the New Zealand wool, at different levels, thereby creating a compelling graphic pattern and a visual sense of depth. This forms an eye-catching shadow-play that gives a sense of being two-tone rather than monochrome.

The Oslo Lounge Chair
The Oslo Lounge Chair represents a new chapter in Muuto’s Oslo Series, lending its refined geometry and sartorial smooth curves to an elegant and supremely comfortable seat. This tension makes it a versatile design at ease in a multitude of settings – from the hotel lounge to the office – an ideal companion in carving out space for community and connection in the places we meet and work. Equally at home in a residential setting, it is a light and inviting chair that wholeheartedly embraces comfort while bringing a contemporary perspective to the classic lounge chair.

The Top Pendant
The Top Pendant Series is a contemporary reinterpretation of the archetypical cone-shaped pendant with a truly universal design. Elegantly merging the familiar expression of a spun metal pendant light with innovative technology, it is a soft take on a hard material.

Manufactured in spun steel with a graphic rolled hem, the Top Pendant Lamp Family is a versatile series that offers a vast range of opportunities and combinations across colour, size, and function. It can seamlessly fit in or make a strong impression—be it in the warm atmosphere of the bedroom and kitchen, or in the hotel lounge, co-working space or gently glowing above a restaurant table. Its glossy, powder-painted finish accentuates its characteristic silhouette, truly making it pop.

The Fiber Conference Armchair
A striking silhouette combined with a distinctly ergonomic seat makes the Fiber Conference Armchair a compelling addition to any setting where we spend an extended time seated. Marrying the absolute comfort of its generous seat with a strong formal language, it naturally elevates a space, a sculptural presence around the conference table, in the meeting room or even at home around the dining table. The interior shell of Fiber Conference Armchair is made of 99% recycled plastic from post-consumer waste. Its spacious seat and embracing curves come fully upholstered in textile or leather with a soft fixed cushion that provides maximum comfort in public spaces and the home alike.

Fiber Armchair in Recycled Plastic and FSC certified wood
The Fiber Armchair and Fiber Side Chair without upholstery now offer a new perspective on the already iconic sculptural shell chair, introducing an innovative composite of recycled plastic and wood fibres. The shell is made from a combination of recycled plastic of which minimum 80% is recycled mixed with FSC™-certified wood fibres.

The recycled plastic used in the Fiber Armchair & Side Chair is sourced from post-industrial waste from the manufacturing of eyewear. High-quality recycled plastic has made it possible to recreate the Fiber Chair’s original strength and durability with the characteristic colours of the series, all while keeping the amount of recycled plastic at minimum 80%. For its unique sculptural shell, the recycled plastic has been mixed with FSC™-certified wood fibres to create a matte and tactile surface.

As part of our sustainable initiatives, we wish to increase our use of recycled materials in order to lower our consumption of natural resources and reduce waste. By switching to recycled plastic Muuto expects to save more than 50 tons of virgin plastic in 2022.

“We at Muuto continuously question our approach and methods to arrive at new perspectives on Scandinavian design. The new version of the Fiber Armchair and Side Chair in recycled plastic is the result of a challenge we posed to ourselves — to reimagine the way we work with recycled plastic. To create something strong and durable from recycled materials that could match our distinctive colour palette and endure daily wear and tear. This complex yet thrilling challenge led us into novel fields of research, inspiring us to develop
