Leica’s new store, designed with a strong architectural focus, features interiors inspired by Scandinavian design, complemented by heritage-style art deco windows and a striking double-height entry leading to a mezzanine photographic gallery.
Nestled in the heart of the city on Little Collins Street, the newly opened Leica store is more than just a retail space - it's a haven for those who appreciate craftsmanship and history.
Just recently, Leica inaugurated its largest store in the world at 267 Lt Collins St, Melbourne – a project years in the making. This four-storey, new-format retail space marks Leica’s third store in Australia.
The newly opened Leica store presents an exciting retail experience for both Melbournians and visitors, conveniently situated in the heart of the CBD. It offers a comprehensive selection of Leica cameras, lenses, and sport optics, appealing to enthusiasts, professionals, and beginners alike. Visitors are invited to engage with and test all Leica products at their own pace, with interactive displays and expert staff on hand to offer in-depth advice, product demonstrations, and personalised recommendations.
Leica’s seating areas have been thoughtfully outfitted with the Magis Traffic collection, providing customers with stylish and comfortable seating. The Traffic collection's sleek, contemporary design harmonises with the store's sophisticated aesthetic, offering a perfect blend of form and function. The collection's minimalist lines and refined materials not only enhance the visual appeal of the space but also create a welcoming environment where customers can relax while exploring Leica's premium range of products.
The Traffic collection from Magis is a striking example of modern design. Designed by Konstantin Grcic, the collection features clean, geometric lines and a lightweight metal frame that gives it a contemporary, almost industrial look.
Playing with proportions, Grcic expanded the Traffic idea to create a vocabulary of different seating forms: an armchair, sofas, benches, and a chaise lounge. Later, he extended the concept to create low tables, with a choice of stone tops that seem to float above their angular metal frames.
Upholstered in premium materials, the seating options within the Traffic collection offer a comfortable experience while maintaining a sleek and minimal profile. The contrast between the structured metal frame and the soft, inviting cushions creates a dynamic visual effect, embodying a perfect balance between rigidity and comfort, making it a standout choice for any modern interior.
