Set within the historic Mosman ANZAC Memorial Hall, BresicWhitney’s Lower North Shore office exemplifies the seamless integration of heritage architecture with contemporary office design. Within this context, the Herman Miller Cosm chairs provided by Living Edge play a pivotal role in bringing comfort and functionality to a workspace that prioritises openness and fluidity.

In the open office area, Cosm chairs are strategically placed at the workstations, enhancing comfort and flexibility for staff. The Cosm chair’s Auto-Harmonic™ tilt system intuitively adjusts to each user, providing personalised support without the need for manual adjustments, a key feature in a dynamic, multifunctional office space.

Beside the furniture, the interior space has then been significantly opened by removing partition walls. In their place, less obtrusive devices distinguish different spaces of the design, making for a more open and multifunctional workplace overall.

An intricately designed steel ribbon acts as the primary means for organising the main workspace, subtly distinguishing between more public and private zones. At 1500 millimetres in height and with a curvaceous aesthetic, it separates workplace areas for different uses while still maintaining visual connections across what is now a warm, open space. The reception area and meeting rooms, for example, are clearly set apart from the main office without losing a sense of occupying the same workplace and having access to natural light.

In a project where every element is thoughtfully considered, the Herman Miller Cosm chairs stand as a testament to how furniture can elevate workplace design, marrying functionality with design sensitivity.
