After studying at London's Slade School of Art, Mark Holmes opened his first showroom in 1997 at the Oxo Tower, also in London.
Trained initially as an artist, Mark’s education at the famous Slade School in London allowed him to freely develop his creative output into a distinct, minimalistic approach and to apply it in the design of both formal and functional objects.
He established his name by exhibiting at trade fairs such as 100% Design and Salone Satellite in Milan, and later collaborated with fellow designer Sebastian Wrong.
Together, they formed The Lane, a creative group which has worked on projects for the Stella McCartney outlets in London, Paris and Korea, and The Laban Centre in London. Along with Sebastian Wrong and three others, Holmes was a founding member of Established & Sons. In 2009 he launched the London-based design brand Minimalux.
