Konstantin Grcic completed his MA in Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art London in 1990 and went on to work for Jasper Morrison, where he honed his approach to design.
Grcic’s designs remain true to form and are characterised as he carefully researches the history of the design and architecture reflecting his passion for technology and materials.
In 1991, Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design (KGID) was founded, many of their designs have received international design awards and are part of permanent collections including MoMA, Centre Georges Ponpidou and Die Neue Sammlung.
His clients include renowned brands; Aeance, Authentics, Cassina, ClassiCon, Flötotto, Flos, Galerie Kreo, Kettal, Laufen, Magis, Muji, Nespresso, Plank, Smart and Vitra. He was the recipient of numerous awards such as the Compasso d`Oro for his MAYDAY lamp (Flos, 2001), the MYTO chair (Plank, 2011) and the OK lamp (Flos 2016).
He defines function in human terms, combining formal strictness with considerable mental acuity and humour.
