Gerard Taylor

Gerard Taylor studied Product Design at the Glasgow School of Art and Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art, London in the ‘80s along with the generation of designers that included Ross Lovegrove, Jonathan Ive, and Jasper Morrison.

After graduation, he was hired by Ettore Sottsass to work in his Milan office. During the same period, he was invited to participate with Memphis Group. Back in London, Taylor founded a design studio with Daniel Weil. In 1991, Taylor set up his own creative consulting firm focusing on furniture, product design, interior architecture, and strategic consulting. He continued to design residential buildings, especially in London. Taylor deals with and writes about contemporary workplaces, the dynamics and changes of which he regularly lectures around the world.
