Daniel Schofield

British-born furniture and product designer whose work seamlessly fuses graphic sensibility, carpentry craftsmanship and a devotion to simplicity. Currently based in Copenhagen he creates furniture and objects defined by clarity of form, honesty of materials and a quiet, understated charm.

Schofield’s path into design was anything but conventional. Beginning with a study in graphic design, he quickly found himself drawn to hands-on craft, undertaking a carpentry apprenticeship working on residential and heritage-building projects across the UK.

Later, he formalised his commitment to furniture through a degree in Furniture and Product Design at Sheffield Hallam University.

This unique blend of visual design, manual skill and structural understanding now underpins his creative process: he often begins with sketches, moves into model-making (wood scraps or 3D prints), and continuously questions how an object will be made, shipped, used, and endure over time.
At the heart of Schofield’s work is a belief that no detail should exist without purpose - that true design lies in reduction, clarity and long-term relevance.

Whether developing the elegant, plywood-derived form of the lounge chair Fin lounge chair or crafting minimalist tables for heritage furniture houses, his objects strive to blend functional integrity with subtle beauty, quietly earning a place in both interiors and lives.
