Description
Designed by Muller Van Severen in 2026, the Silhouettes Candleholder range distils recurring forms from the studio’s work into four precise, expressive objects. Chairs, cabinets, lamps and vessels are reduced to their essential outlines, leaving geometry, proportion and material to carry the design.
Developed by BD Barcelona Design in collaboration with Apartamento, each candleholder is made from 100% raw aluminium. The surface remains untreated, preserving fine marks from fabrication rather than concealing them beneath a decorative finish. These traces give the metal a direct, quietly industrial character and allow each piece to reveal how it was made.
The collection includes Radius, L, Rectangular and Triangular. Each has a distinct profile, from the generous curve of Radius to the angular lean of Rectangular and Triangular, while L extends horizontally before turning upward. Their proportions carry a deliberate sense of imbalance, yet each remains resolved enough to stand as an independent object.
Used alone, a Silhouettes Candleholder introduces a measured graphic accent to a dining table, mantel, desk or bedside surface. Grouped together, the four forms begin to converse, creating a composition of arcs, angles and changing heights. Once lit, the candle adds another layer, casting elongated shadows that sharpen the collection’s architectural presence.
Recommended for candles measuring approximately Ø20–22mm.
