Description
This piece was imagined by Mathieu Girard et Gauthier Pouillart of Atelier Cocorico. The visual strength and stability of Monument relies on an ingenious construction system that does not require any tool. The result is a brutalist, material centred piece with a strong sculptural presence.
The two imposing “cross” columns that constitute the superstructure are the visual signature of the shelf but also present and enhance beautiful objects or books. The monument system come in a large variety of dimensions and it is possible to make mono-material shelves or combine marble and wood.
