Description

The Usawa Carpet by Walter Knoll is designed around a sense of equilibrium. Helmut Scheufele draws on the varied colours of African landscapes, translating them into a grounded composition of warm brown, ochre, stone, charcoal and softened mineral tones.

Its surface moves in horizontal layers, giving the rug a landscape-like quality without becoming literal. The effect is calm and anchoring, with enough tonal complexity to bring depth to a room. In a living room, Usawa can settle a seating arrangement and give the space a more composed centre. In a bedroom or dining room, it introduces warmth and texture beneath furniture while keeping the overall mood restrained.

The low pile carpet is made from 35% wool, 20% nettle fibre and 45% silk, combining natural texture with a subtle reflective quality. It is also well suited to home offices and professional interiors where material richness helps shape an atmosphere for gathering, conversation or considered work. Usawa brings balance underfoot, quietly but with substance.
