The Mawingu Carpet by Walter Knoll is designed around a vivid natural image: red clouds formed through the interplay of wind, sand and sun. Helmut Scheufele translates that atmospheric reference into a rich, tonal surface, where deep red shifts gently across the rug rather than sitting as a flat block of colour.

Its strength lies in this quiet movement. The warm, intense hue can anchor a living room, soften a bedroom or bring depth to a dining setting, while the subtle variation across the surface allows it to sit with both restrained and more expressive interiors.
