Description
The Kesho Carpet by Walter Knoll is inspired by the first light of day. Designed by Helmut Scheufele, its name means “The Morning” in Swahili, a fitting reference for a rug shaped by gentle shifts in tone, light and shadow.
Its surface recalls sunlight moving through streaks of cloud, casting a calm variation across the floor. Rather than acting as a strong graphic statement, Kesho brings a quieter atmosphere to the room, helping furniture settle into place while softening the space around it.
The low pile construction is made from 35% wool, 20% nettle fibre and 45% silk, combining natural texture with a subtle luminosity. In a living room or bedroom, Kesho can create a composed foundation for daily retreat. In a dining room, home office or professional interior, it brings warmth and depth without visual noise. Like morning light through the same window, its character feels familiar, but never completely still.
