Woven Mirror

Description

Created by Bower Studios, the Woven mirror range turns an unexpectedly resistant material into something resembling textile. Strips of mirror-polished stainless steel are formed and hand-woven with leather accents, supported by a walnut frame. The resulting grid catches its surroundings in fragments, shifting between useful reflection and abstraction as you move through the room.

It is an unusually dynamic way to bring a mirror into an interior. Light, colour, furniture and architecture are broken across individual strips, then visually stitched back together, giving each composition a character that changes with its setting.

Five standard configurations explore this woven idea in different shapes and proportions, while custom sizing and leather application are available for more bespoke requirements. An optional backlight can wash the wall with soft illumination, bringing greater depth to the woven construction and extending its presence beyond the reflective surface.

Each Woven Mirror is individually handmade, requiring extensive forming and manipulation of highly polished stainless steel. Subtle surface marks, fine scratches and variations are inherent to this process and may become visible in certain light. Rather than manufacturing faults, they are part of the material expression of the piece. Each mirror is individually inspected by Bower Studios, with significant scratches or damage excluded through quality control.
