First conceived by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby in 2016 as a bespoke light for the Design Museum in London, Bellhop Unplugged translates the portability and intimacy of a candle into a rechargeable LED lamp. Its rounded polycarbonate dome rests over a cylindrical base, while an opaline, photo-engraved diffuser casts a soft pool of direct light across the surface below.
A discreet button keeps its considerable lighting control close at hand. Brightness steps between 100%, 50%, 3% and off, with a dedicated Night Shift function allowing the lamp to start at its lowest level. Three colour temperatures, 2200K, 2700K and 3000K, let the light move from an especially warm glow to a clearer, brighter atmosphere.
Cordless and compact, Bellhop can travel from the dining table to a bedside or terrace without bringing a cable with it. Its IP54 rating supports outdoor use, while USB-C charging makes returning it to power straightforward. The cable is included.
Up to 24 hours of use depending on the light setting. At 100% brightness, Flos specifies 6 hours of cordless operation and an approximately 4-hour full charge. An original design intended to remain in use for years to come, the battery pack is customer-replaceable and guaranteed for 1000 charging cycles.
