Saturday Indesign Melbourne 2025

This past weekend, Living Edge was proud to once again take part in Saturday Indesign, opening our doors to the wider design community for a day that celebrated collaboration, creativity, and connection.

A Day of Design, Community and Creativity.

Our Melbourne showroom was a key stop on the Saturday Indesign circuit, where we staged a dynamic program of activations, talks, and brand showcases. One highlight of the day was the Magis Puppy Challenge. The installation quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the event, a playful, collaborative spectacle that perfectly captured the spirit of Saturday Indesign. We were very happy to have raised over $2,000 for Guide Dogs Australia. After the success of last year, partnering with Guide Dogs Victoria this year continues our mission to unite design and community impact. The challenge invited leading architecture and interiors firms to creatively reinterpret the iconic Magis Puppy, showcasing bold ideas and playful expression.

Rethinking Plastics in Product Design

Levi by FK

Top Dog. Voted by the public.

“Unleashed Potential” lives in what we often overlook. Our Magis puppy wears a coat made from the FK team’s old jeans, jackets and fabric scraps. Each piece carries a history, stitched together into a surface that is shaggy, textured and full of character. This puppy is a celebration of resourcefulness, community and the joy of making.

Paws by Cera Stribley

Best in Show. Chosen by Magis.

Equal parts sculpture, pop culture, and play, PAWS reimagines Magis’ beloved Puppy through the lens of KAWS’ Dissected Companion. A playful clash of design icons, it’s a witty reminder that while trends come and go, dogs remain a most loyal muse.

Profile of a Dog by Ritz & Ghougassian

Puppy with Purpose. Chosen by Living Edge.

This work reimagines the Magis dog by cutting, extending, and wrapping it in thread. The altered form becomes a study of profile and identity, where subtle variations transform perception. Though inanimate, it invites anthropomorphism, reflecting how we project ourselves onto objects, blurring boundaries between self, form, and meaning.

We also hosted an insightful panel “The Future of Work in a World of Change”, a conversation exploring how workplaces must adapt to shifting needs and expectations. With hybrid models, co-working, and rapid advances in technology continuing to reshape the way we work, the discussion examined how design can respond to these changes with both agility and foresight. The panel brought together Chris Hagan (NaughtOne), Freya Robinson (FK), William Cassell (Cox Architecture), and Manuela Millan (Fortis), and was moderated by Timothy Alouani-Roby, editor of Indesign. Together they unpacked themes of adaptability, circularity, and longevity asking how furniture, spatial planning, and a commitment to reuse and sustainability can shape resilient workplaces for the future.

Guests were also invited to explore the very latest from our international brand partners, including new releases and collections direct from Milan Design Week. Across our showrooms guests discovered innovations from MillerKnoll, Walter Knoll, Muuto, BD Barcelona, and more.

Events of this scale are only possible through collaboration. We would like to extend our thanks to our brand partners and collaborators whose work and support made the day so memorable. To our panel speakers, thank you for sharing your perspectives and enriching the conversations that took place.
