Celebrating BCorp Month

Our B Corp accreditation is more than just a certification - it is a testament to our dedication to people, planet, and prosperity, reinforcing our role in a global movement seeking to transform the economic system for the better.

Raising the Standard: Sustainability in the Australian Furniture Industry.

Becoming a Certified B Corporation in 2023 was a defining milestone for Living Edge, marking the culmination of 15 years of dedicated work through our LivingOn sustainability program. From pioneering carbon-neutral operations to launching initiatives like Living Without Waste and Think Circular, we have continuously pushed the boundaries of what it means to be a responsible company.

Over the past decade, the Australian furniture industry has undergone a remarkable transformation, lifting its standards to prioritise sustainability, quality, and responsible production. At Living Edge, we have always championed the importance of sustainable design, ensuring that the brands we bring to the Australian market uphold the highest ethical and environmental values.

B Corp Month

We are incredibly proud to continue leading the way in sustainable furniture, ensuring that every piece we offer not only meets the highest standards of design but also contributes to a more circular economy. Our Relive program is a testament to this, providing a pathway for furniture to have a second life through refurbishment, resale, or recycling—an initiative designed to extend product longevity and reduce waste. Our commitment to sustainability is a core pillar of our business, and we take immense pride in curating a collection that aligns with our mission of creating a more responsible future for design.

The brands we represent share this commitment, continually innovating to reduce their environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship. Herman Miller, a global leader in workplace and residential furniture, has been at the forefront of sustainable design, incorporating ocean-bound plastics and circular economic principles into their latest offerings. Just recently, the Mirra 2 Chair has been refreshed with a focus on sustainability and material innovation, demonstrating Herman Miller’s ongoing commitment to responsible design. Magis has reimagined the classic Re Air-Chair, now made from 100% recycled polypropylene, proving that sustainability and durability can go hand in hand. Muuto’s Fiber Chair, crafted from recycled plastic and FSC-certified wood fibers, demonstrates how contemporary design can embrace new materials without compromising on aesthetics or function. Across our portfolio, every brand we work with takes precautionary measures to ensure that their production processes, materials, and end products are as responsible as they are beautiful.

All of these efforts, amongst many others, were encapsulated in our B Corp certification achievement in 2023, a milestone that affirms our dedication to building a more sustainable and socially responsible industry. This recognition validates years of hard work through our LivingOn sustainability program, reinforcing our mission to drive forward-thinking solutions that benefit people and the planet. As the industry evolves, we remain committed to setting the benchmark for responsible furniture procurement, making sustainable design the standard, not the exception.
