What we saw at this year’s 3daysofdesign

For three days in June, Copenhagen becomes the centre of the design world with its showrooms, galleries, and cultural spaces alive with creativity, innovation and new product launches.

This year’s theme, Make This Moment Matter, was a call to design with purpose, where every decision carries meaning beyond the moment itself.

“Make This Moment Matter is a positive form of empowerment, urging people to create something with a purpose that’s meaningful. As a design community, we have the wherewithal to make a difference. We have each other. It takes courage to create, and I hope Make This Moment Matter gives designers the impetus to be proactive, and to take action without all the answers.”

Coltre Sofa

Studiopepe

Previewed during Milan Design Week and named after the Italian word Coltre, meaning blanket, the Coltre Sofa refers to a soft, padded layer resting gently over a defined surface. Inspired by the softness of a blanket gently settling over a defined structure, bringing together sculptural clarity and inviting comfort. Created as part of Muuto’s 20 Years of New Perspectives celebration, two Numbered Edition Designs look ahead to the next chapters of Scandinavian design: pieces shaped by experimentation, craft, and emotional presence, with close attention to how objects are experienced in everyday life.

Close to Heart

Spacon

The chair wears its heart subtly embedded within its structure, where heart-shaped connectors soften the precision of aluminium with a gesture of warmth.

Inner View Object

Lise Vester

Designed as an invitation to pause, the design captures shifting light in layered reflections. Mouth-blown in Murano and finished by hand, each piece carries subtle variations that honour the region’s glassmaking heritage.

Muuto Inner View Object by Lise Vester

“I’ve always been interested in how objects can shift our perspective — how they can make us see a space, and ourselves within it, differently. With this piece, I wanted to take something familiar, like a mirror, and push it slightly out of context. By curving and refining it, it becomes less about reflection as a function and more about perception, something that quietly expands your view and invites a moment of pause.”
