Description
The Sen Armchair by Walter Knoll brings an architectural clarity to the lounge chair. Designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates, it is built on a careful contrast: soft upholstered volume held within a fine, geometric frame of chrome-plated steel.
Line and mass are kept deliberately distinct. The polished frame traces the chair’s outline with a light, almost drawn quality, while the upholstered seat and back offer a more grounded sense of comfort. The result is calm but not minimal for its own sake. Each element has a clear role, allowing the chair to feel composed from every angle.
Kengo Kuma’s work is often shaped by openness, light and a sensitivity to material presence. Sen carries that thinking into furniture, creating a seat that suits living rooms, home offices and spaces for focus, reception and exchange. It can sit as a pair in a lounge setting or stand alone as a quiet architectural accent.
