Designed by Michel Charlot for Vitra, the Happy Bin transforms a daily necessity into a small moment of design joy. With its organic, asymmetrical shape and smooth matte finish, this bin adds a sense of flow and creativity to any room it inhabits—from study to studio, bedroom to bathroom.
Lightweight, durable, and surprisingly expressive, the Happy Bin offers a subtle twist on conventional wastebaskets. A sculpture by Hans Arp prompted Michel Charlot's design of the Happy Bin. While respecting industrial production methods and material properties, the slightly irregular shape of the waste paper bin was designed to appear almost to have grown naturally.
