With mathematically arranged concentric squares in varied hues, this series—spanning over two thousand works—remains a foundational influence on colour theory and art education today. “Art is not to be looked at. Art is looking at us.” – Josef Albers.
Created in close collaboration with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation to honour the legacy of one of the most influential figures in 20th-century Modernism.
Great effort has been taken to maintain the correct colours, design and appearance of the original artwork throughout the reproduction process. This however means you will see small marks and inclusions within the image which have been kept purposely to retain the authenticity of the original artworks in accordance with the Albers Foundation specification.
