Description
Rather than simply contain or emit light, Melt makes inner-illumination part of the object. Its blow-moulded polycarbonate shade is vacuum metallised, giving the irregular surface a reflective, almost liquid character when unlit. Switch it on and the shade appears to open up, revealing a softer, translucent glow within.
Two base options give the Melt orb distinctly different personalities. Slim Cone elevates it on a fine black stem with compact conical foot, keeping the silhouette visually light. Fat Cone gives the shade a more substantial steel pedestal, grounding its organic form with a sharper architectural counterpoint that catches light and reflections in the highly-polished finish.
Both versions use a 6W LED light source producing 800 lumens at a warm 3000K, with CRI >90 for clear colour rendering. The Fat Cone version is inline dimmable, while Slim Cone is non-dimmable. Each lamp includes a generous 2500mm black cable.
Available in a family of semi-metallised finishes, including Nickel (new for 2026), Melt brings reflection, depth and a slightly otherworldly presence to the room, whether illuminated or not.
Part of Tom Dixon’s wider Melt collection, the floor lamp extends the range’s distorted orb and shifting reflective character into a freestanding format with greater vertical presence.
