Description
Designed in 1970 by Verner Panton for Vitra, the Amoebe Lounge Chair emerged from Panton’s visionary Visiona interior installation. Created during a period of radical experimentation in furniture and interiors, the chair reflects the optimistic and expressive design language of the early 1970s.
The chair’s organic silhouette is formed from a flexible shell layered with polyurethane foam and fully upholstered in fabric. Its soft contours encourage relaxed seating positions, while the gently curved back provides natural support and comfort.
Available in a wide palette of vibrant textiles, the Amoebe Lounge Chair embodies Panton’s belief that colour and form should shape the atmosphere of a space. Whether placed in a living room, lounge area or creative workplace, the design introduces a playful yet sophisticated presence that transforms seating into a sculptural interior element.
