Description
Developed as a variation of the Amoebe chair, the Amoebe Highback Lounge Chair expands Verner Panton’s original concept with a distinctive extended backrest that curves above the sitter. Produced by Vitra, the design retains the playful character and organic form that define the Amoebe collection.
The dramatic high back forms a protective, canopy-like shape that creates a sense of enclosure and privacy. Upholstered surfaces and a flexible shell structure provide generous comfort, making the chair well suited to relaxed seating in lounges, reception areas and contemporary living spaces.
Like the original Amoebe, the Highback version is available in a variety of bold fabrics and colours, allowing the chair to function both as comfortable seating and as a striking visual focal point. The result is a piece that embodies Panton’s experimental approach to interiors, where furniture becomes both environment and expression.
