Description

Designed by Tom Dixon in 2025, the Wobble Rug brings the organic contours of the Melt lighting collection to the floor. Its central field appears to spread outward in a series of irregular curves, creating a sculptural outline that shifts gently as it moves around furniture.

The design is hand-tufted by skilled artisans in Northern India using 100% New Zealand wool, with a 100% cotton backing. A deep, high-cut pile gives the centre its generous texture, while the shorter looped border creates a quieter, flatter frame. This contrast in pile height makes the pattern visible through shadow and touch rather than colour, allowing the Natural finish to remain calm and adaptable.

In a living room, Wobble can soften the geometry of a sofa and coffee table while providing a comfortable surface underfoot. Beneath a dining setting, its tonal surface introduces definition without competing with timber, upholstery or stone. It also works well in bedrooms and home offices, where the deep wool pile brings warmth and a more settled acoustic character.

The hand-tufted construction gives each rug subtle variations that reflect the making process. Its restrained palette leaves room for stronger furniture, art and colour, while the undulating edge adds enough movement to hold its own in a quieter interior.

Professional cleaning is recommended to preserve the depth, texture and form of the pile over time.
