Named for the Italian word for ‘blanket’, the Coltre Modular Sofa by Studiopepe begins with a simple idea: softness settling over structure. Its quilted textile surface follows the sofa in repeated parallel lines, building gentle volume and visual rhythm across a form that feels substantial without becoming rigid.
The modular system allows Coltre to shift from a concise sofa to more expansive, angled or chaise-led arrangements. Centre, corner, chaise lounge, ottoman and angled modules can stand independently or connect through pre-installed flat steel fittings around the timber legs, keeping larger configurations securely composed.
Beneath the upholstery, an FSC™-certified (FSC-C028824) wood frame, metal springs and foam shell provide the underlying structure. The enclosing fabric cover is removable and replaceable, while its quilted upper layer is intentionally softer and more lived-in. Regular fluffing helps retain that relaxed character, rather than pressing the surface into something overly pristine.
The Coltre Armrest Cushion extends the same blanket-like idea in a movable form, adding a supportive armrest or loose cushion wherever the configuration needs it.
Available across a considered range of Muuto textiles, Coltre can be configured to suit the scale and shape of the room, with further combinations available via enquiry.
