Description

Designed in 1960 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, the Taraxacum pendant is a poetic response to modern lighting needs - evoking the soft geometry of a dandelion captured mid-bloom. Its name, drawn from the botanical term for dandelion, speaks to its delicate, organic form and glowing presence.

Each pendant is crafted from a white powder-coated steel frame, expertly coated in a fibrous polymer resin using a unique spray technique developed by Flos. The result is a distinctive cocoon-like surface that gently diffuses light, casting a warm, ambient glow ideal for living spaces, dining rooms, or hallways in need of both softness and structure.

Available in two sizes, the Taraxacum pendant offers flexibility in scale while retaining its sculptural integrity. Whether suspended above a dining table or as a singular statement in a quiet room, it brings a sense of calm and character - bridging mid-century artistry with modern material innovation.
