Description

Designed by Michael Anastassiades for Flos, the String Light system reimagines suspension lighting as a graphic composition within the room. Inspired by the linear rhythm of cables and pylons observed during travel, the design explores how light can be stretched and positioned freely across architectural space.

This version features a cone-shaped aluminium head that delivers soft, directed illumination through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The lightweight luminaire is suspended from a 22-metre Kevlar-reinforced coaxial cable, allowing the light to travel across walls and ceilings before reaching its final position.

Equipped with Casambi-ready Bluetooth control, the integrated LED source can be dimmed and managed through compatible smart-lighting systems or via tactile interaction with the cable. The system allows designers to create dramatic spatial compositions while maintaining clean, minimal hardware.

Ideal for large interiors, dining areas or creative workspaces, the String Light Cone Head transforms lighting into an architectural gesture—one that balances technical innovation with quiet visual clarity.
