Seki-Han Suspension Light

Description

The Seki-Han Suspension Light by Flos reintroduces a rare Tobia Scarpa design in a new linear suspension form. Originally designed in 1963 and re-released in 2025, it reflects Scarpa’s command of wood, proportion and light control, bringing the material warmth of the Seki-Han Floor Light into a horizontal architectural profile.

Two ash wood blades are joined by chromed metal fittings and rotate around a central tubular light source. This movement allows the light to shift between direct and indirect emission, with symmetrical or asymmetrical distribution depending on how the blades are positioned. A slender line of light remains visible at all times, giving the pendant its quiet visual tension.

Seki-Han works particularly well above tables, work surfaces or lounge areas where light needs to be both atmospheric and purposeful. Its custom-developed dimmable linear LED source supports contemporary performance, while compatibility with standard T8 LED tubes adds practical versatility. It is a considered re-edition, faithful to Scarpa’s original idea while shaped for present-day use.
