The Seki-Han Floor Light by Flos brings a rare Tobia Scarpa design back into contemporary use with quiet technical refinement. First designed in 1963 and re-released in 2025, the floor light reflects Scarpa’s deep understanding of woodworking, material presence and controlled illumination.
Its form is defined by two sculptural wooden blades enclosing a tubular light source. The construction is intricate, drawing on manufacturing techniques associated with naval architecture, while the timber gives the light a tactile warmth and visual depth. In the 2025 edition, reimagined by Flos in close collaboration with Tobia Scarpa, the wooden blades are now mobile. They rotate around the central body to modulate both light intensity and direction, allowing the mood of the room to shift with a simple adjustment.
