Inside the Atelier, The Making of a Limited Edition Rug

For Belgian brand Limited Edition, every rug is a product of thoughtful design and meticulous craftsmanship.

A Limited Edition rug is never simply a finishing touch. It’s A story told in fibre and form.

In interior design, rugs are often referred to as foundational pieces, for good reason. They anchor a space, define zones, introduce warmth, texture, and narrative. The rug can set the tone for an entire room, guiding both material palette and spatial composition. And when a rug is custom made, that influence is even more profound.

Cosmic Gala

Founded by Katia Dewitte and run alongside her husband Philippe Hanet and brother James Dewitte, the company remains proudly family-owned, yet its operations are remarkably advanced. Vertically integrated, Limited Edition controls every aspect of the design and delivery process, from spinning and dyeing yarn to weaving, tufting, and finishing, all from its headquarters in Mouscron, Belgium.

Arcadia

This approach allows for exceptional quality and total creative freedom. You have the ability to modifying shape, scale, colour and composition to meet the unique demands of your space. Once a design direction is established, yarn colours are carefully selected from the brand’s extensive library, or custom dyed in their nearby mill to match a precise Pantone reference. Samples and CAD drawings allow clients to refine every detail before production begins.

In the world of bespoke interiors, this kind of collaboration is rare, and deeply valued. It ensures that the final piece is not only functional, but expressive: a deliberate extension of the architecture and interior palette.

Cosmic Cocoon

Limited Edition’s collections demonstrate the diversity and depth this process allows. The Agate rug captures the layered beauty of natural stone through fluid, striated forms that bring movement and depth to a space. Abstract distils Brutalist architecture into a graphic, sculptural surface, ideal for grounding minimal interiors. And Cosmic Gala, inspired by antique Berber rugs, blends organic geometry with a luxurious mix of wool, linen, and Tencel for a softer, more tactile finish.

Each piece speaks to the brand’s belief in the sensory power of design—the way materials, colour, and texture can transform not just how a space looks, but how it feels. A Limited Edition rug is never simply a finishing touch. It’s A story told in fibre and form.
