Driven by curiosity about how design shapes emotion and why we’re drawn to certain spaces, Muuto’s designers explore new ways to create environments that simply feel right — pieces that invite reflection, connection and a sense of belonging.
Deriving its name from the Finnish ’muutos’, meaning change or new perspective, Muuto was founded in Denmark by Peter Bonnen and Kristian Byrge in 2006. The brand is dedicated to crafting functional, well-made pieces with enduring aesthetics and genuine expressions.

The Muuto collection of furniture, lighting, and home decor accessories is crafted by a number of designers who align with the brand's forward-thinking approach. Each bringing a contemporary take on tradition, these creatives embrace the essence of Scandinavian heritage through the application of sustainable materials, techniques and bold creative thinking.
Linear Steel Series
Designed by Thomas Bentzen, the Linear collection embodies a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic. Thomas’s work spans tableware, interiors, furniture and industrial design, united by his passion for creating objects “that engage and create curiosity; that are functional and simple, meeting human needs in use — and simply create joy while not.”
“I had the honour of working on an object that, still today, represents an unsurpassed example of design and ingenuity. My approach has always been one of deep respect for the original piece: a project that requires neither functional nor formal modifications, as it is perfect in its essence.”
- Thomas BentzPartly inspired by oak wood tables, the Linear series presents a sophisticated, understated expression defined by straight lines and thoughtful detailing. Considerate of the elements, a small space allows for easy outflow of water.
Dream View Bench
In her latest collaboration with Muuto, Copenhagen-based designer Lise Vester applies the principles of sensory design to the Dream View Bench. A design language that defines her practice Lise is interested in how thoughtful design can offer comfort, presence, and care across different stages of life.
"Design today should address the emotional landscape, not just the physical one. We need furniture that doesn’t just serve us but supports us."
- Lise Vester
The smooth curves of the Dream View Bench follow the body’s natural form, gently guiding focus toward the sky.
The form of the Dream View Bench was developed by observing natural posture, first traced in sand, then refined with prototypes to support the body while lifting the gaze. Its brushed steel surface softly mirrors its surroundings, making the bench a living, changing presence as light, weather and sky shift throughout the day.
Settle Outdoor
Norwegian duo Anderssen & Voll blend functionality and Scandinavian heritage with materials like smooth powder-coated steel, warm wooden armrests, and comforting textiles, inviting you to settle into its comfort.
“Settle is designed to engage and offer comfort, standing up to diverse weather conditions without compromising on style.”
- Espen VollMuuto's design language revolves around a harmonious balance between a strong heritage and a progressive context. Every new design contributes a fresh perspective, either by improving or challenging what has been made before, reflecting Muuto's commitment to constant innovation.
