Mark Goetz

Mark Goetz thinks about furniture in ways that most of us don't.

In his 20-year design career, he has been responsible for numerous collections of seating and furniture pieces with a classically modern appeal.

Since the inception of his firm TZDesign, Mark has worked with many companies and produced a stream of noteworthy projects. He introduced his first series of lounge and guest seating for Brickel Associates which continues to be carried through Geiger International.

Herman Miller invited Mark to design a sofa for their Home division with the goal was to create an innovative piece that would complement the work of Herman Miller and the work of great designers Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson, and Isamu Noguchi.
In addition to his professional career, Mark has been an industrial design professor at Pratt Institute for 14 years. In his graduate furniture design class, students are responsible for the ideation, design, and execution of an actual piece of furniture. The emphasis of the course is to encourage students to develop their own individual point of view.
