Nigerian-American Dozie Kanu, raised in Houston's slab car scene, draws on its customisation and individuality to shape his design philosophy. Now based in Santarém, Portugal, he works across sculpture, performance, and fine art, repurposing found objects into works that resist classification.

A 2016 SVA graduate and 2018 Humblot Design Prize winner, Dozie has exhibited internationally, including the Venice Biennale.
