David Caon

Since returning from Europe, David Caon has established himself as one of the leading designers in Australia. Initially moving to Europe to complete a Masters of Automotive Design in the UK, David moved to Milan in order to explore a more diversified approach to design.

It was in Milan that David was given an opportunity to work with British designer George Sowden of the renowned Memphis design movement. During his time with Sowden in Milan, David also collaborated with designer Jerszy Seymour, whom he assisted with several exhibitions both in Milan and Paris.

David Caon founded his studio in Sydney, in 2009. A creative design practice, CAON excels at applying design thinking to industrial processes. CAON projects range from aircraft interiors to tableware, from architecture to furnishings for the workplace and home. CAON prides itself on the ability to connect people to the things they use and the spaces they move through from day to day.
Caon Studios was created in 2009 and has continued his long running relationship with Qantas, designing their new direction in International Premium Lounges in both Singapore and Hong Kong. In addition, Caon Studios was commissioned by Qantas to design new and also refurbish aircraft interiors, including the Qantas 717 Cabin design and the most recent Qantas 737 interior facelift.

Caon Studio has both won and been short-listed for numerous international awards – most recently winning the Sydney Design Award in 2015 for Best Interior, Qantas Premium Hong Kong Lounge.
