Achille Castiglioni

Achille Castiglioni is recognised as one of Milan’s industrial design masters. Born in 1918, he studied architecture at Milan’s Polytechnic before working with his brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo in their design studio. In addition to architectural projects, the brothers created signature interior pieces.

Later in life, Achille worked as a solo designer and urban planner whilst teaching at Milan Polytechnic.

During his career Castiglioni produced more than 150 products and forged enduring relationships with Italian companies such as Flos, Zanotta and Alessi and won the prestigious Italian design award, Compasso d’Oro, nine times.
