These effortlessly majestic pieces came from his desire to eliminate the confusion caused by “the slum of legs” underneath typical chairs and tables. The Tulip Stool, and accompanying Pedestal Table, have since become symbols of mid-century modern design and mainstays of the Knoll design legacy.
