Bill Stumpf and Jeff Weber collaborated with over 20 experts in the fields of biomechanics, physical therapy and ergonomics contributing their expertise in developing the Embody. Their ambitious goal: create a chair that not only minimises the negative effects of sitting but actively contributes to your well-being.

As a result, Embody set a new benchmark for pressure distribution, natural alignment and support for healthy movement in ergonomic seating.

Thanks to a dynamic matrix of pixels in the seat and back automatically conform to your body’s micro-movements, distributing your weight evenly as you sit. This reduces pressure and encourages movement, helping maintain healthy circulation and focus during extended work or gaming sessions.

Embody’s back is designed like a human spine with flexible ribs. The Backfit™ adjustment lets you align the backrest with your spine’s natural curve, achieving a neutral, balanced posture. Once tuned to your body, the chair responds to your movements, offering consistent support whether you’re leaning in or reclining.

In line with Herman Miller's commitment to sustainability, Embody is constructed using environmentally responsible materials. Made with 36% recycled content and is up to 93% recyclable at the end of its life, considering both the user health and environmental impact.
