When Aeron debuted in 1994 it was a chair unlike any the world had ever seen. It didn’t just change how people sat, but what they thought a chair could be. But as the nature of work has evolved, it was only fitting that the Aeron evolve with it.
So how did Herman Miller improve one of the most iconic and beloved chairs in the world? They recruited co-designer Don Chadwick to reexamine the design criteria that led him and Bill Stumpf to the original in the context of today’s work and technology. With stronger, smarter materials, better adjustment capabilities, new finish options, and a healthier, more comfortable sit. Herman Miller didn’t recreate or redesign the Aeron Chair—they remastered it.
Sustainability is built into every curve of the Aeron Chair. Made from over 50% recycled materials and up to 90% recyclable, the Aeron exemplifies responsible, forward-thinking design. It also incorporates ocean-bound plastic waste diverted from waterways, helping reduce environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of durability and performance.
