Description
The Muecke Lounge Chair by Knoll translates Jonathan Muecke’s sculptural approach into a generous seat for quiet, extended use. Released in 2026, it is built from solid wood cylindrical dowels with upholstered seat and back cushions, creating a frame that feels open, rhythmic and deliberately legible.
The chair’s angled seat and back hold the sitter in a relaxed position, making it well-suited to reading, conversation or a considered pause between tasks. Rounded dowels pass each other on nearby planes and connect where they meet, repeating the distinct joinery language of the Muecke Wood Collection. The end grain remains visible, allowing the material to be understood from multiple angles rather than disguised.
Available with a frame in natural oak, ebony-look ash or Oxford walnut, and with upholstery options across an extensive range of leathers and textiles, the lounge chair can be tailored for living rooms, bedrooms, home offices and corporate settings. It arrives fully assembled. A coordinating ottoman is available separately.
