Happy Susto Vase, Animated

Description

Little decorative items have been part of BD Barcelona's catalogue since Ettore Sottsass drafted the Shiva vase back in 1973. Sottsass called these, "little architectural pieces", as their design paralleled that of larger furniture items, though their small size makes them no less important to the collection. Among them is the humble water bottle designed by Josep M. Jujol, the imperfect vases by Xavier Mañosa, and the iconic Showtime series by Jaime Hayon. An abundance of talent can be found in them, just the same as can be found in the pieces of furniture supporting them.

Hayon continues to demonstrate his character and humour through the design and name of this collection - Happy Susto - which means "fright" in English. While the purpose of these little vases is a decorative one, they carry both emotional and artistic value.
