Hopy Modular Candleholder

Description

Designed by Alessandro Stabile for Magis in 2026, Hopy treats the candleholder less as a fixed object and more as an exercise in composition. Four interchangeable concrete elements can be stacked and reordered in up to 48 combinations, changing the silhouette from compact and column-like to broader, more playful arrangements.

Each element has its own distinct profile and colour: brick orange, blush, light green and ochre yellow. Cylindrical, flared and softly rounded forms meet in shifting proportions, while the mineral character of concrete gives the cheerful palette a grounded, tactile quality. Rearranging the pieces takes only a moment, allowing Hopy to change character without adding another object to the room.

That flexibility gives a familiar ritual a more personal dimension. Rebuild it between uses, settle on a favourite arrangement, or let the composition evolve over time. Hopy is designed for Ø22mm candles and includes a candle, so it is ready to use on arrival.
