Description

Inner View, by Lise Vester for Muuto, shifts reflection from a function into a question of perception. Its name hints at a double perspective: the changing view held within its mirrored surface, and the more personal awareness that comes from seeing yourself differently within a familiar space.

Its softly rounded glass body compresses, stretches and layers whatever appears across it as you move around the room. More perceptual object than conventional mirror, it asks you to notice the relationship between yourself, the light and the space around you. With the visual presence of a small sculpture or artwork, it can occupy that role in a room while remaining responsive to its surroundings rather than presenting a fixed image or form. Light, furniture and architecture become part of the object itself, changing through the day and encouraging a closer look at familiar surroundings.

Each Inner View Object is mouth-blown in Murano and finished by hand, drawing on the region’s longstanding glassmaking tradition. Subtle variations in tone and brightness are inherent to the process, giving each piece its own material character rather than the uniformity of industrial production.

Created to mark Muuto’s 20th anniversary, Inner View Object forms part of its 2026 Numbered Editions and is limited to 150 individually numbered pieces.
