Description

Risk Knit is a collection of wall hangings by artist, designer and tech subverter, Erwan Bouroullec. The knits are produced in collaboration with Kvadrat Febrik, exclusively for The Wrong Shop. As Erwan Bouroullec explains, knitted textures can be seen as the roots of computing.

Dimensional changes in the artwork cannot be controlled, and are desired as part of the concept. Its construction in natural material produces subtle variations, while temperature and humidity influence the woollen medium. Due to the structural pattern and weight, the fabric will lengthen after hanging.

Erwan Bouroullec has designed minimal oak brackets, to mount the knits on the wall.

Each Risk Knit will be produced in an edition of 100 units. The Wrong Shop will provide a signed and numbered certificate of provenance from Erwan Bouroullec for each edition sold.

Nature has its very expected way, but time and permanent repetition are building a certain harmonious chaos. Somehow computers mimic nature...” - Erwan Bouroullec
