Description

Most storage units have interiors fitted to decades-old proportions. Recognising this problem, Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld set about creating a smartly designed array of modules that efficiently answer all of today’s needs. “We emptied our office cupboards, put everything on the floor, and asked ourselves, ‘What are the ideal sizes to store these things?’ The printers, the binders, the pencils, even the wastepaper baskets,” he says. With the correct scale established, he then set about designing a system for combining modules so they could adapt to the appropriate heights for a credenza, sideboard or desk.

Creating Domino from the inside out did not mean that Weinfeld neglected the exterior. Beautiful detailing and craftsmanship are everywhere apparent: from the artful veneer application to the mitred corners. Domino is finished on all sides and can serve as a divider between a living and dining room as well as in an open-plan office, and is available in 66- and 102-cm heights, two-, three-, or four-units wide, and in six formatting options. Finish options include walnut, santos palisander and ebony, with chrome or satin chrome trim with a solid white ash interior.
