For 10 years, PROOFF has been an early-mover in the world of innovative spatial furniture design and continues to push the boundaries with thought-provoking views on the future of workspaces. PROOFF is now investigating a combination of the physical with innovative and disruptive VR technology, launched at Clerkenwell Design Week 2016 (24-26 May, London).

With this specially designed VR experience, in collaboration with UNStudio, PROOFF is aiming  to apply this cutting-edge technique to trigger alternative ways of thinking about the workspace, while simultaneously examining the potential it holds for architecture firms, interior designers, design & build companies and their clients.

Integrating the many possibilities of VR will ignite a pivotal change in the concept-to-creation process: from wowing the client with virtual walkthroughs to seeing the design from every angle. VR delivers a true sense of scale, making the designed space more tangible and ultimately simplifies the decision-making process. In turn, this will boost inspiring and highly functional workplaces.

To highlight the extensive presence of Dutch Design in Australia, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Sydney has organised a Dutch Design Collective exhibition featuring 12 Dutch brands at the Melbourne event of design platform Indesign. Dutch Design is highly appreciated for its simple and clear character. Often described as minimalist, experimental, innovative and smart, the Dutch mentality shines through with its often quirky essence, down-to-earth tone and humorous nature. Dutch Design is often identified with a group of Dutch product designers. Names such as Maarten Baas, Jurgen Bey, Hella Jongerius, Richard Hutten, Wieki Somers, Marcel Wanders and internationally recognised design firms and collectives have set a trend that lasts.
