Woods Bagot has recognised that the experience of the user comes as much from the finely tuned details as the large-scale statement pieces.
A monolithic sculptural concierge desk is the main point of arrival for guests. Derived from White American Oak, its curved, enclosing edges are a signature expression throughout the space, exploiting the warmth of natural timbers and imbuing the space with pockets of containment.
Within the rectilinear form of the lobby, with its monumental mosaic clad walls, coupled with the formality of sandstone walls and granite floors, Woods Bagot introduced the dynamism of a centrally hung spiral stair to link the ground floor to the mezzanine levels.
While the building placed an emphasis on connectivity, it was important that the experience was both intuitive and discrete, with furniture selected and delivered without cabling so that technology also appeared seamless.
The lobby embraces a limited palette comprising White American Oak, marble, and the rich tan of natural grain leather on bespoke seating integrated with large-scale planters.
